![]() ![]() ![]() We predicted that GroEL is absent in all bacteria from the phyla Actinobacteria and Cyanobacteria and in a large fraction of bacteria from the phyla Chlamydiae and Gemmatimonadetes. We also verified the presence of GroEL in genomes that do not contain it by using the GroEL.pgc classifier. These results suggested that the fCW and fC3 classes can be used to segregate aggregation-prone proteins from soluble proteins. We could not find a significant correlation for any of the other features, except for the fCW (C3 proteins as fraction of genome) and fC3 (as described previously) (0.5, p-value < 2.2e-16, Figure 6E). Although we found a strong correlation between the GroEL copy number and the aggregation-prone proteins (0.7, p-value < 2.2e-16, Figure 6D) we did not find a significant correlation between the copy number of groEL and the GC content of genomes (0.4, p-value < 2.2e-16, Figure 6D). However, in the current study, we could not find any significant correlation between the copy number of groEL and the aggregation propensity of a species (Figure 6C). Previously, we had reported that a number of bacterial species contain more than one gene encoding GroEL 43. We then sought to verify the presence of more than a single gene encoding GroEL in bacteria. Acid Pro 7 Serial Number Authentication CodeĪcid Pro 7 Serial Number Authentication Code ->->->
